Recursive construction of spectral basis and its application to matrices

We prove a recursive formula for construction of generalized spectral basis. Example of application is presented for symbolic computation with non-diagonalizable matrix that describes electromagnetic wave propagation in anisotropic media. The method is general enough and can be applied, for example, to multivectors of the Clifford algebra.
