Tangent bundles of Quot schemes of vector bundles on curves

For a vector bundle on a smooth projective curve , one defines the Quot scheme parametrizing subsheaves of having length torsion quotients. We describe the indecomposable components of the tangent bundle of , thus characterizing when is indecomposable. We also characterize when is simple; in fact, we completely describe the endomorphism rings of the indecomposable components of . As an application, we determine when two products of such Quot schemes can be isomorphic.
