Here, we report high-resolution crystal structures of two bacterial C17 class I TCs, Pc-ChloS and Vb-GriS, including a complex with a substrate surrogate that defines recognition of the cyclized precursor α-prechlororaphen pyrophosphate (α-PCPP).
