We present a Banach space $X_{α}$ , equipped with an explicit norm, whose properties resemble those of the predual $J T_{*}$ of the James Tree space. In particular, $X_{α}$ admits a shrinking dyadic basis with the property that the sums of its elements over any segment are uniformly bounded. The space $X_{α}$ is complementably $ℓ_{2}$ -saturated, and its dual $X_{α}^{*}$ does not contain an isomorphic copy of $ℓ_{1}$ . Finally, the bidual $X_{α}^{**}$ is also complementably $ℓ_{2}$ -saturated, and the quotient $X_{α}^{**} / X_{α}$ is isometric to $c_{0} (2^{N})$ .
