On convex bodies with rotationally symmetric planar projections
In the authors' words
Let and let be a convex body. For a two-dimensional linear subspace , let be the orthogonal projection of onto . We prove that if for every two-dimensional subspace , the planar convex body has -fold rotational symmetry up to translation, then for , this forces to be an Euclidean ball. The case is exceptional: non-spherical examples exist.
