K\"ahler-Einstein cone metrics and parabolic bundles
In the authors' words
Let be a compact K\"ahler manifold, let be a simple normal crossing divisor, and fix . We introduce a parabolic structure on , given along each by the filtration with weight on the normal quotient. If carries a K\"ahler--Einstein metric with cone angle along , we show that is parabolic polystable with respect to . When the Einstein constant is non-zero, we introduce parabolic structures on the Tian extension () and on Simpson's canonical Higgs bundle (), and prove that these are polystable too. Combined with the Bogomolov--Gieseker inequality for parabolic bundles, this yields a Miyaoka--Yau inequality for these pairs.
