We study a quasi-linear Schr{\"o}dinger-type equation arising in the description of particle dynamics within atomic nuclei. Under suitable assumptions on the model parameters, we establish the existence, uniqueness, and non-degeneracy of positive radial solutions. Moreover, we analyze how these solutions depend on the parameters.
