Gravitational wave radiation from periodic orbits around a black hole in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar theory
In the authors' words
In this paper, we investigate the periodic orbits around a black hole (BH) in Einstein-Maxwell-scalar (EMS) theory and the corresponding gravitational waveforms. First, we study the test particle dynamics around the BH by using the Lagrangian formalism. Using the corresponding conditions, we explore the effect of the spacetime parameters on the marginally bound orbit (MBO) and innermost stable circular orbit (ISCO). The results indicate that MBO and ISCO quantities decrease with the rise of the parameter and BH charge , and vice versa for the parameter. Subsequently, we plot the different zoom-whirl orbits around the BH in EMS theory by finding the test particle's corresponding energy and angular momentum. Finally, the gravitational waveforms of the extreme mass ratio inspirals, which contain a supermassive BH in EMS theory and a stellar mass object, are demonstrated. It is shown that the zoom-whirl orbits shrink as the BH charge increases, and, as a result, gravitational waveforms shift towards shorter times.
